Review of Raising Arizona (1987) by Steven S — 12 Nov 2010
After thrilling audience members with their debut film noir, "Blood Simple.", the Coen Brothers show that they can also make audience members laugh with their second film, "Raising Arizona.
" The movie features more wacky and slapstick humor than I've seen in any other of the Coen's films, but it proves that the Coen's can also be funny rather than being serious. This is simply a movie that is all around good fun and nothing more, thanks to a sweet script and a perfectly cast Nicholas Cage as the lead role (never thought I'd say that) along with the other supporting players.
