Less gruesome than most of the Coen brother's other film, Raising Arizona still has their trademark, slightly twisted sense of humour. Nicolas Cage is unrecognizable and gives probably the best performance of his career.
But as always, what makes the Coen brothers films stand apart, is that there is always a great deal of heart and intelligence. Raising Arizona is a sweet little movie, but not quite up to their more sinister offerings.
