Review of Rain Man (1988) by Kayvon P — 10 Aug 2010
This is definitely a classic but I was expecting more. Dustin Hoffman's autistic performance was amazing, no question about it but I just didn't get as engaged emotionally with the characters like I thought I would.
There were some editing issues and some scenes that just didn't flow as well which didn't allow me to get fully engaged. In comparison to Amadeus, that won Best Movie the year before, this movie is not even in the same universe.
In the end, I had such high expectations that I was definitely disappointed even though it is a must see and a very touching story of two brothers that go from not even knowing of each other's existence to a true bond.
