Review of Raging Bull (1980) by Arturo S — 24 Nov 2012
The story of boxer Jake la Motta is no doubt the best film of the 80s and perhaps also the 90s and so far the 2000s. Every time I watch it I end up tired for all the drama that slowly unveils. It is heart aching to see how La Motta slowly destroys his life and then punished himself.
The use of opera music and B&W makes it a beautiful film that contrasts with the story. Maybe Scorsese's best (Although I prefer Casino).
