Review of Raging Bull (1980) by Sutthirak P — 20 Jun 2012
Hard to love "Raging Bull" because Jake LaMotta's biography isn't inspiring, he's a horrible paranoid person. If "Taxi Driver" (1976) is a cheering idealism madness, "Raging Bull" depicts a worse realism.
Robert De Niro was brilliant for the titular role with Joe Pesci. I don't know how I exactly feel about the movie but thinking that this is the most unique film of director Martin Scorsese with an excellent editing by Thelma Schoonmaker.
Cinematography (B&W) and music were great as well. For the record, it's not a general sport movie, so don't expect that it will be fun or exciting around the boxing ring which was stylish directed.
