Review of Raees (2017) by Oddtimes — 13 Jan 2018
One of the coolest movies I've ever seen. Of course it's unrealistic, it's a movie. Romantic crime gig, comedy, Hollywood violence and big dance numbers. There is no let up in the pace and the sets in Indian movies are always interesting despite the over editing.
It is simply an entertaining movie, an escapist movie and can be easily criticized because of that. But breaking out in song and dance in this kind of story is something Western society can learn from, because you can get sad and happy in a movie without having to resort to Hollywood schlock.
