Review of Radio Days (1987) by Tanya K — 15 Mar 2011
A pleasing and gentle tour through memory lane in which Allen relives the glories of his childhood, when the radio ruled the household. Plenty of amusing stories narrated by Allen himself and featuring a likeable cast standing in as his family and the various wireless performers that they idolised and gossiped about.
Many scenes are charming, but my favourite was the one in which his sister danced to Carmen Miranda's 'South American Way', with her dad and uncle providing impromptu backing vocals.
