Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by P. P — 11 Jan 2011
Jonathan Demme scores again in a low key, moving, alternately funny and heartbreaking story. Nice to see Debra Winger in front of a camera again. Anne Hathaway isn't a favourite of mine but she really pulls out the stops here - the performance doesn't look or feel "Hollywood".
The supporting cast are also impressive. A realistic portrayal of family strife and love and the complexities/competition inherent in sibling relationships.
