Review of Rachel Getting Married (2008) by Paul P — 11 Dec 2011
Director Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs, Philadephia) delivers what could very well be his best film since The Silence of the Lambs. Anne Hathaway strikes deep at the human core with a powerhouse performance, this is her best work to date! There are too many films which show all the joys, love, and happiness of weddings, this film hits all the personal notes.
The film centers on all the family dysfunction which is clouding over what could be the best wedding I have ever seen. With a great cast, and an Oscar worthy screenplay, Rachel Getting Married is one the year's best films.
