Review of Rabbit Hole (2010) by Jovan J — 09 Jun 2012
It's not an easy thing to make a film about the loss of a child. I approached this movie tentatively, having a very personal connection to such a loss. The direction was exquisite, however. You join the story after the event has occured, so you do not have to witness the heart-wrenching moment other than through one, brief flashback - quite late in the film.
The story is mainly about the aftermath. How such a tragedy effects all parties involved. How people deal differently with their pain. It was sad, but poignant. I really liked the analogy mentioned in the film of pain being like a brick in your pocket.
A worth piece.
