Review of Quiz Show (1994) by Caleb M — 22 Dec 2007
A brilliant, engrossing film about lies, deception, and guilt. Everything about this film is top notch; the script, music, costumes, sets, cinematography, and performances. I love every performance in this, although Ralph Fiennes and John Turturro stand out as two quiz show contestants, one a wealthy distinguished all-American teacher, the other a lower-middle class Jewish brainiac.
Tuturro has so many great lines in this film like "That box is the biggest thing since Gutenberg invented the printing press, and I'm the biggest thing on it." or "You promised me! You get me that panel show, or I'm going to bring you down with me, you lousy lying prick, you and Charles Van Fucking Doren.
" I love this film.
