Review of Quiz Show (1994) by Philip E — 12 Jan 2008
Very interesting and, in my opinion, rather obscure subject matter, being of rigged game shows from the 1950s. Ralph Fiennes was the draw here, I think, as a rosy-cheeked university professor whose character was tested and revealed, revealed and tested by the rainbow of demons lurking under Fame's bemusing wing.
This film might serve as a metaphor for the wheezing death of America's 20th century innocence, but then again, maybe that was "Forrest Gump.".
