Review of Quiz Show (1994) by Grayson D — 03 Apr 2011
Well-crafted account of the "Twenty-One" quiz show scandal. The sophisticated screenplay unfolds elegantly under Redford's direction, told as much through the actors' words as through the sharp cinematography and editing.
Fiennes, Morrow, Turturro and Scofield do wonderful jobs with their roles, as does the supporting cast. The film's themes of television and greed stir up questions about what truly drives the mass media industry and celebrity.
A must-see for film buffs.
