Review of Quiz Show (1994) by Iain R — 06 Mar 2012
Quiz Show -- a dramatization of the rigged 1950's game show 21 -- is a film you go into with fairly low expectations. However, under the direction of Robert Redford, little could have been done to actually improve on the film.
Top notch writing is paired with excellent acting to give the audience the perfect balance of drama and entertainment. A knock out performance by John Turtorro - who has never been better. Also exemplary performances by Ralph Fiennes and Rob Morrow, who by the way, did a great job at selling the Boston / Harvard / Bobby Kennedy vocalization.
Solid job all around, leaving Quiz Show as one of most unheralded films of the 90's.
