Review of Quills (2000) by Miranda G — 24 Nov 2009
It was difficult to sit all the way through this movie--but I did. It was rather over the top for me regarding violence, vulgarity, obscenity and outright perversion. What had attracted me to this film was 1) the high critical acclaim by reviewers whose opinions I respect and depend upon for making informed choices when it comes to watching movies; 2) the list of distinguished actors in the cast of players.
I came away angry and depressed that I had wasted an entire evening?s entertainment on this film. I did not find it either erotic or humorous in the least. I can say that it made me feel uncomfortable and that it did not change my views on censorship.
