It seems Camelot can't decide how seriously to take itself: at times, it's an excellent Celtic fantasy, but in other moments it delves into near-parody material. Fantastic songs ("On My Father's Wings," "The Prayer," "I Stand Alone") and a strong heroine make the movie worth watching with the kids, but other elements of the film seriously undermine its strengths.

The silliness of some gags feels very out-of-place: "ACME" on a vial of magic potion, and several pointless cuts to a rooster trying to make moves on a hen. The animation is lacking at times.

Characters may or may not be kept in proper proportion to each other, and the animators show a general disregard for perspective. The voice work is also inconsistentâwhile the main cast sounds excellent, many supporting characters (eps.

Bladebeak and the other henchmen) sound like Chau just decided to use the scratch vocals in the final cut. Had this been just a straightforward cartoon, I wouldn't give it more than 2 stars, but the music alone makes this movie worthwhile.
