Review of Queen Margot (1994) by Nicholas C — 25 Aug 2007
Well. Powerful and absorbing, This one's got the lot. Intrigue, betrayal, romance, unscrupulous, skullduggery counter-pointed by the height of valor... a cracking pace that pulls you along for a roller-coaster emotional ride as you have to make alliances with the characters, and then change allegiances (in empathy) with them instantly to survive.
Unusual *SPOILER* in that its told from the pov *SPOILER* of the 'losers'. Loved it, worked on many levels simultaneously. Not to mention one very dysfunctional family. Trivia. IA was about 40 at the time.
Hubba. Rent it on DVD.
