Review of Quartet (2012) by Melodye R — 09 May 2013
This film has an excellent pedigree of actors and a gorgeous backdrop of an old British manor house in an idyllic countryside. A wonderful way to spent one's final years for anyone and perhaps particularly musicians.
However, the fine performances and use of former professional musicians are not sufficient to save the overly sentimental and predictable story. Former lovebirds reunite and a much important fund raising gala (to keep the home going.
...what must they charge for these tickets) performance goes ahead as planned.
