Review of Q (1982) by Aaron C — 18 Oct 2009
It's kind of odd. There are many reasons people watch this movie. Maybe they like cheesy 80's stuff, maybe they're a big David Carradine fan, but mostly I think this gets around because of Michael Moriarty.
Now, I admittedly didn't really know who he was before this. Q was suggested to me. I saw him in one other flick and it wasn't for that long, but the man's a genius. How he took such a bland script and hack stock character and make him memorabe is beyond me.
Larry Cohen has this sort of dry wit peppered here and there in the flick and it just wouldn't be as good without it. Q, itself, is quite cheesy and rear projected but nobody said that there's anything wrong with that.
He comes out and scoops you up and tears your head off. Good stuff.
