Review of Pushing Tin (1999) by Justin M — 14 Nov 2006
Newell is good director, and he's working with a talented cast to explore one of the more interesting careers out there, but there's something missing to this rom-com, and I can't place what it is. Cusack does his usual shtick, and it works, but as the film's focus shifts from guiding planes to cheating on wives, it starts to lose me.
A scene where the leads lay down on the landing-strip, to be lifted into the air by the plane's wake proves memorable, but most everything else could have been better.
