Review of Pusher II (2004) by Teddy D — 06 Aug 2010
I figured Tonny was out for the count after the first installment of Pusher, but he's back and he's as greasy as he ever was. It's all about Tonny trying to figure out his life, and he gets so close to it but yet still so far and it's almost uncomfortable to watch him try and deal with the reality of living a straight life.
The ending left me just as the first movie did, feeling like I didn't know what really happened. I love that, because it left me wanting to see more. Of course the third installment of Pusher doesn't answer any more questions about Tonny (just as this one really didn't give any solid info on what happened to Frank in the first movie), but it was still a satisfying ending because even though we're not really sure what will happen for Tonny in the end we know that he was aiming at the right place.
Unfortunately for him, I'm sure whatever could happen after the events of Pusher II would be just as uncomfortable and messed up as this movie was. Awesome film.
