Review of Pusher II (2004) by Gregory C — 20 Mar 2011
Ha! I know this is probably the wrong word to use, considering the gravity of the subject matter of his movies, but I find nicolas winding refn's movies highly amusing. this was super dark, totally pathetic, and sometimes extremely funny (especially considering the "respect" tattoo on the back of fuck-up antihero's head).
this is epic crime drama with ZERO romanticism. it's messy. it's sad. it's weak. it's brutal. it's absurd. it's seedy. it's also very stylized, has a pretty cool soundtrack, and has very compelling actors.
looking forward to watching the final installment of this trilogy.
