Review of Pusher II (2004) by Alex D — 30 Jun 2013
In the sequel of Refn's first film, Pusher, he virtually outdoes himself in everywhere. Acting, Directing, Cinematography, etc. Everything seems to have gotten a much needed boost and because of this you have the rare occurrence of a sequel outdoing the original.
I think with this film you see the true talent of Refn when given more money and a fantastic lead, Mikkelsen. I even see where some of the ideas for Only God Forgive's cinematography, especially the color palette, which was used amazingly in this film.
Reds, Greens and Yellows, truly used to perfection.
