Review of Pusher (1996) by Marc L — 11 May 2010
A very gritty, danish crime drama. Starring a then unknown Mads Mikkelsen and directed by Nicholas Winding Refn (Bronson) - this is the first in a trilogy all about the drug trafficking trade and relationships amongst drug dealers. This is not going to appeal to many people, the movie is low budget and the pacing is kind of whack - but the acting and soundtrack is brilliant. The director is one of my favs and this is his first feature flick, so I had to order the trilogy online - being that it's hard to get and it's a foreign language movie with subtitles.
I can't reccomend it to many people, because in all honesty - they won't find a copy easily - but I will say that it's a fantastic film and aside from some bad pacing and an awful ending, the movie is very well done.
