Review of Pusher (1996) by Chris A — 12 Sep 2011
Fantastic debut by the director of Bronson, Valhalla Rising and new Ryan Gosling vehicle Driver, a copenhagen mean streets, all hand held and half light with a real sense of the local bars and clubs and high rise drug dens that a jobbing pusher frequents on his daily rounds.
..strangley reminds me of bob hoskins brilliant turn in long good friday, particularly the closing shot that lingers on a man utterly aware of his impending doom, that the fates have conspired to trap and destroy him.
Now for Pusher 2...
