Review of Pursuit of Happyness (2005) by James L — 05 May 2015

Incredibly well acted by Will Smith and there are moments when he is so in character , we forget the story isn't about his own life. I can only believe at some point in the film, Smith drew upon similar struggles in his own life to achieve happiness and success.

The story is about Chris Gardner , a salesman who struggles to find happiness in his life and day to day income; and decides to go out in pursuit of happiness. The story lacks excitement and is almost entirely carried by Will Smiths performance, but luckily this is one film which doesn't need exciting storylines to captivate the audience.

.....it only needs to draw the audience in to experience and understand the struggles of the main character.....and it does this very well. In fact I'm surprised this film did not receive more accolades, as it's a film many can relate with and enjoy.
