Review of Punisher: War Zone (2008) by Andy L — 18 Aug 2010
Punisher: War Zone is an average action/gore film that has moments of goodness but then other moments that are so bad you have to laugh.
This film misses Thomas Jane (Punisher from the 1st film) he played the role well. Ray Stevenson although not as good as Jane still plays the Punisher well and brings the more silent, violent, relentless character that I know for me personally is more accurate to the original character in the comics.
Jigsaw's character is fun but his make-up and design made him look like he came right of the set of Dick Tracey! To me this made the film amateur at most.
The story is ok but nothing fantastic, and the gore and violence was sometimes so over the top that it made you laugh not think the Punisher was anything awesome.
