Review of Punisher: War Zone (2008) by Agentz — 02 May 2019
This may not be a great movie, but it is a great Punisher movie. It’s extremely comic-accurate and faithful to the the source material. The violence in this over-the-top and the action is top-notch and spectacular.
Punisher: War Zone is a fun, entertaining, and cool comic book movie that is thrilling to watch from beginning to end. This film is a severely underrated guilty pleasure. Ray Stevenson did a great portrayal of the Punisher and gave a good performance.
Though, I still prefer Thomas Jane as the Punisher/Frank Castle. This should’ been a sequel to The Punisher (2004) with Thomas Jane reprising his role as The Punisher/Frank Castle instead of a reboot with another actor as the titular character.
Punisher: War Zone is one of the most underrated comic book films ever made. I find it hard to believe that a woman directed this excessively violent, bloody, and gory film. The villains in Jigsaw and Looney Bin Jim were charismatic, fun, and enjoyable.
It may have a weak plot and story but the spectacular action makes up for it.
