Review of Puncture (2011) by Raul V — 04 Nov 2011
Surprisingly good and engrossing film that somehow got lost in its theatrical release. With a better than average budget, good actors, and a compelling story, this film only made it to a handful of theaters across the country.
The Bijou in San Antonio was one of only 4 movie theaters to carry the film. I wondered why until I saw it. This movie takes a daring stab at the big business of medical suppliers in this country...specifically needle manufacturers, buyers, & hospitals.
..not necessarily something the big studios or the government want out at this time. The more you know about this shit the more pissed off you're gonna get. Great story...although frustrating & a bit heartbreaking to watch.
Very good acting...lead by Chris Evans ("Captain America") in a very different, drug-addicted, almost "Erin Brockovich" type role. It's already made its quiet exit out of theaters.
I highly recommend everyone who works in the medical field, or who have family or friends who do, check out this movie. For most...rent this one a few months down the road.
