Review of Punch-Drunk Love (2002) by Rhys O — 04 Aug 2013
What begins as a fairly boring film, and irritating characters to boot. It all turns out to be a very clever ploy by Paul Thomas Anderson to help us empathize with Adam Sandler's character and give us more of an emotional journey, and emphasizes the romance as we want his character to be happy with the girl and when he's with her, you feel genuinely happy.
A really original romantic comedy that has all the definitive elements of that genre. Watch it.
