Review of Punch-Drunk Love (2002) by Ws W — 31 Aug 2015

2/4.
Adam Sandler's impressive performance is the best thing about this terminally weird movie. Reclusive Sandler gets into a relationship with a woman he isn't sure how to respond to, but gets way over his head after a phone call where he reviles something he shouldn't have: his business. Intentionally bizarre but even then it goes too far, and ends up being an unpleasant experience. Sandler avoids his usual annoying comedic performance and tries something new, which he's very good at. Interesting at first, but its strangeness eventually becomes too much to take.
