Review of Pump Up the Volume (2001) by Leo S — 21 Mar 2011
A really good complementary film to "Heathers", as this one's about teenage alienation, too. It's kind of strange watching now a couple of talk radio movies from right around this time.
Did people in the late 80's/early 90's think talk radio was a really great format for change? Pirate radio is interesting, but most people--even then, I think--recognized that radio is a dying (or even dead) medium.
Hell, "Network" was made in 1976, and used TV as its mouthpiece... "Videodrome" in 1983. Weird that we get a resurgence in talk radio dramas around this time.
