Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Whitney W — 29 Mar 2014

I recently rewatched this for the first time quite a few years. I remember liking it but thought it was probably overhyped. It definitely isn't overhyped. The film is wonderful. The performances and dialogue are great and the overall vibe of the film is fantastic.

The cinematography, and soundtrack are great - I love the Dick Dale surf music and smokey, California aesthetic. The chopped up order of the film works well but I still would have liked it even if it were told in a traditional order, which keeps the non-linear narrative from being gimmicky.

Also, damn can Uma Thurman work that choppy haircut. I'd totally go get milkshakes with her and do the Twist.
