Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Michael T — 28 Oct 2015
Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction hovering at the bottom of the AFI's top 100 all time films is identical to Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit hovering at the fringe of Rolling Stone Magazine's greatest rock n' roll songs.
We're just waiting for the old guard (of critics) to die off so they can move up to their rightful place. Love em or hate em, both are undeniably the most influential works of the 90's in film and music.
Both sent shock waves through their respective industries, opened the floodgates for countless imitators, and made everything that was hip and popular immediately preceding them, look dated or downright silly.
I'm not sure Pulp Fiction is Tarantino's best film, but it is a masterpiece and a landmark film. A must see for any serious movie buff.
