Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Arnold V — 14 Dec 2015
First off, I like movies that are different. I appreciate Pulp Fiction for waking up Hollywood and show them different movies are accepted by a lot of people.
It also has influenced a lot of movie makers and till today Pulp Fiction influences them.
That being said, I didn't like the movie. It's one of 2 movies, I fell asleep during the viewing.
The opening was great, I really enjoyed that one. Very powerfull performance by Samuel L. Jackson.
But after that, it became really boring. The dialogue became less interesting and the slow-pacing of specific scenes made it really difficult to watch/continue watching. Especially the Uma Thurman scenes were really dull. Her performance wasn't on the same level as the other cast. John Travolta was just decent, nothing special. To me, Samuel L. Jackson was the only great performance.
It's not that I don't get the movie, it didn't appeal to me. I love movies that mix up the timeline of the movie and connect different characters but somehow this one doesn´t work for me.
