Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Kelvin W — 17 Feb 2016
Tarantino is a captivating storyteller, and his writing alone captures the audience's attention like no one else. I never knew what to expect in the next scene, allowing elements of surprise and nonlinear storytelling to unfold in an entertaining fashion. The film is chock-full of conflicts, motifs, and deconstructive dialogue delivered by idiosyncratic characters, fully fleshed out with intentions that intertwine with one another.
Knowing how to create a well-written and technically sound film is one thing. Knowing how to keep an audience's interest using the above elements mixed with raw imagination and cinematic sensibilities is pure Tarantino.
