Pulp Fiction is a film that released in 1995 and is the 2nd film directed by Quentin Tarantino, after Reservoir Dogs. It is a black comedy/ crime film that follows three separate stories: two mob hitmen going to collect a briefcase for their boss, one of the hitmen being ordered by his boss to keep his wife company while the boss goes out of town, and of a washed-up boxer who has to escape town after double crossing that same mob boss. There are several reasons why I love this movie so much: the dialogue is very well-written with each character being unique yet believable, the story is presented nonlinearly, and the filmmaking involved is very impressive.

The dialogue in Pulp Fiction is very well-written and memorable. Most of the movie is usually dedicated to having characters talking to each other about whatever usually comes to their mind. The way that conversations and situations are shown in this movie is meant to mimic various types of pulp magazines and hardboiled crime novels that were typically know for violence and catchy dialogue. The way that the script uses situations and stories that were used in those types of literature differently, however, is by applying them to real life situations and logic. Pulp Fiction not only has well-written dialogue, but it is also presented in a non-linear format.

Pulp Fiction is presented nonlinearly. This basically means that the sequence of events in this film are told out of order. This allows for the film to be more engaging by having the audience think more about the film to try and piece together what happened during the film and it leads to people picking up certain details that they might not have noticed on their first watch. For example: in the opening scene one of the main characters shows up in the background while two characters have a conversation, and in the final scene of the movie the same main character is in the exact same location of the 2 characters that were having the conversation at the beginning of the film. Pulp Fiction not only is told nonlinearly, but it also has very impressive filmmaking involved as well.

The filmmaking involved in Pulp Fiction is very impressive. Throughout the film there are multiple shots that are done seamlessly in one take that involve conversations and people walking and performing various actions, all of it looking completely natural and making the film have a better flow overall. Every actor gives a really good performance and really helps make all of the characters feel real even if what the characters do themselves do does not seem very realistic.

Pulp Fiction is a really great film. It is a film that everyone can see and have something that they can appreciate about it. The film has very well written dialogue, is presented in a nonlinear way which can help the audience notice certain details and engage the audience more than if it was told in a different way, and has very impressive filmmaking on a technical level.
