Review of Pulp Fiction (1994) by Danny O — 31 Oct 2014
Pulp Fiction is a truly unique film. Tarantino's confident direction propels this compelling tale of interlocking stories to new heights. What might appear as just an entertaining and strange film turns out being a smartly made movie that's also one hell of a ride.
The different stories are so well crafted. The screenplay is excellent, and the dialogue is so well written that even when characters are just sitting down and having a conversation, its very interesting.
It's also the most quotable movie I've ever seen, thanks to some stellar writing. The characters are also very well written. The ending of the movie brings all the stories into a full circle, giving a definitive character arc to arguably the greatest screen presence in Samuel L Jackson's character.
Overall, this is an iconic blend of comedy and great writing that I could not take my eyes off. Pulp Fiction gets 5/5 stars (A+).
