Review of Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990) by Gus S — 15 May 2008
A rather surprisingly enjoyable 'prequel' film considering its also the 4th in the series. Very predictable at times such as some of the mother's treatment of Norman. Anthony Perkins is superb as always as Norman as he is in the previous sequels.
There are some good homages to the first Psycho such as when Norman's wife is driving to the house in the rain is a homage to when Janet Leigh's character was driving in the rain & ended up at the Bates Motel.
Hats off to the director.
