When rewatching psycho I was worried that It would be ruined as I knew everything coming. I was amazed at how good it was on a second viewing. Psycho is a masterpiece in terror and suspense. Pretty much every scene feels ominous and tense which is so hard to pull off but Hitchcock did it.

From the moment Marion Crane arrives at the Bates Motel the suspense and disturbing nature of the film begin. The performances are amazing from both Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh, which are shown in the classic scene with the taxidermy when you learn that something is not right about Norman.

This then leads to the classic shower scene. A violent and amazing scene that is one of the best directed scenes in all of film. We don't see any impact, we don't see any nudity. If it was done nowadays there would be tones of blood and some extremely fit women showing off her tits and vagina.

Hitchcock knew what he was doing when he made this masterpiece of horror. Talking of which this is a true masterpiece of horror. It trades horror with tension and great characters, with the occasional violent scene.

This has one of the best endings of all time that would have been a lot scarier with no sequels. Psycho is a fantastic movie that everyone should see if they love horror. What can I say except it's my third favourite movie behind Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump A+.
