Review of Psycho (2007) by Morgan H — 10 Dec 2012
A masterpiece that examines obsession, sex, and murder in a time when these things were simply taboo. Hitchcock's endlessly inventive and genius direction makes this adaptation of Robert Bloch's pulpy novel a classic of the suspense genre (or any other, really) .
The performances of Janet Leigh as the doomed heroine and Anthony Perkins' sympathetic yet tortured Norman Bates are terrific, and the shower scene is perhaps the most famous scene in all of movie history.
