Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by Morgan H — 13 Jun 2013
5 Stars for a reason. Funny. Filled with action. Witty. Pegg, Frost and Wright at their very best. The flow of the film is great, engaging and has the audience always interested, the humor is dark, but also light and has laugh out loud moments as well as subtle hints of humor.
Pegg and Frost are hilarious in their roles and I swear at least once every other cast member had me laughing. The whole idea starts off as so innocent but what makes the film so brilliant is how absurd and the levels at which it escalates to leave you laughing for a long while.
(Also watch out for the Peter Jackson as Santa cameo). One of the few films I can watch nearly every day and still be entertained thoroughly with because the jokes never seem to get old. A lot of people prefer Shaun of the Dead to Hot Fuzz but in my eyes the two are both similar and different and if The Worlds End is to be anything like this then the bloody ice cream trilogy may just become one of the greatest in history.
