Review of Psycho (1998) by Geoffrey O — 10 Jul 2015
This is an amazing film that gets better and better with repeated viewings. The first time I saw it, I enjoyed it, but didn't find it to be anything that fantastic or memorable. However, the more I watched it, the more I discovered.
There's just SO much inside this little film. There is a lot of deep symbolism on descent into madness, motherhood, and many other things. It's fascinating to dig into. There are also great performances from Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh along with a fantastic musical score, amazing photography, and it really keeps you interested.
It's not very violent, but so what? It's an amazing film all the same that haunts it's audience because the things it deals with are so real and so human.
