Review of Prozac Nation (2003) by Craig M — 07 Jan 2006
One more post will catch me up to current. Just for the sake of continuity I'm going to create this post closer to the format that I intend to follow for the life of this blog.
The following movies are additional recent DVD's that I've watched, in order to catch me up, and I'll follow with the count for 2006.
DVD's.
- Heights - 5 - The whole concept of weaving several unrelated stories together into one ensemble tale is starting to get a little tired. This movie felt a little stale right out of the gates.
- George A. Romero's Land of the Dead - 6 - I'd consider it a middle of the road Zombie movie, nothing in particular that put it ahead for me.Certainly some gratuitous gore.
- Prozac Nation - 6 - Pretty decent movie, with a story that felt real and acting that held up. In the long run though, the movie didn't make any significant themes obvious and seemed to be a great story that ends up going nowheres.
- Cry_Wolf - 3 - Why do I continue to waste my time with these teen slasher movies that always end up being terrible? Cry_Wolf is nothing new, though it tries to be.
Theaters in 06-.
1. Hostel - 7 - I already gave this one a rating on my first post on here, but figured I should do a write up. Hostel was a very good suspense movie, was clever and entertaining. Hostel features gratuitous nudity and gore throughout, which ends up being a downfall for the film. It becomes a little bit excessive, and this movie is definitely not for the faint of heart or stomach. Hostel does create a very exciting experience, and one that will have you on the edge of your seat for the duration of the film. I wouldn't recommend Hostel to everyone, but certainly recommend it to fans of the horror/suspense genre.
I'd like to ask my readers to take the time to leave some feedback, as I plan on keeping up with this journal. Thanks.
