Review of Protagonist (2007) by Hannu K — 31 Aug 2007
Executed really well. Not only are the subjects interesting, but the director's use of Euripidean drama to cohesively structure the varying stories was creative. Not to mention the additional use of puppetry in the reenactments.
Something about watching the puppets reenact scenes of violence or pain made the experiences even more intense. Not just another talking head documentary. Definitely worth seeing.
