Review of Promising Young Woman (2020) by Kemp — 12 Mar 2021
This has the makings of a cult-classic. I have seen few dark-comedies as good as this one in recent years, and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the bold choices. Carey Mulligan is incredible, and the supporting cast is great.
Without spoiling anything, I loved the ending but came away feeling it still could have been even better. Even so, this is an exciting first film from Emerald Fennell as a writer/director, and I can't wait to see what she does next.
This is a must-watch for "nice guys" everywhere.
