Review of Promised Land (2012) by Zureyka C — 16 Aug 2013
Boring for a while until the big twist at the end that you just didn't see coming. Interesting concept of a movie with a lot of truth in it really but more of a movie you would see if you nothing better to do and watch.
Glad I didn't spend my money on this. I'll save you the trouble of watching the movie by just telling you the main plot: The big natural gas company, Global, makes people believe they have a choice to vote for or against Global drilling in their farm lands.
They think Matt Damon (the sales pitch guy for Global) is the bad guy while the environmentalist (John Krasinski) is explaining how bad drilling is for everyone. Cows can die, farmlands can die, etc. All a lie.
Global set the whole thing up. They played both sides without Matt Damon's character even knowing it. There was never going to be a choice. Global was still going to make sure it happens in their favor in the end.
And that's just it. The End.
