Review of Project Nim (2011) by Mark M — 09 Sep 2011
A documentary that you feel may have reached a wider audience on TV. The journey is engrossing, the outcome is unsettling. The depth of 70's scientific naivety is astounding which grows further the more you consider principles we take for granted now.
You end up feeling like the scientists learned as little about chimps as Nim knew about himself. I disliked the tracking camera talking heads intro's and exits - a bit American talkshow, which really disturbed the solemnity of the piece.
