Finally caught up with this movie. This is an emotional documentary if you love animals, and was very hard to watch. Nim is basically a foster chimp. He is tossed from one owner to next. I think Marsh did a much better job with man on wire, however the fusing in of found footage and created footage is a great way of filling in documentary gaps to advance the story.
My only problem with this movie was it dragged a little bit. Please watch this movie as a double feature with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it shows just how accurate some of that story line is.
