Review of Prizzi's Honor (1985) by Matt K — 30 Apr 2008
A classic example of an old school filmmaker applying his craft in a more modern setting, creating an instant classic in the mafia genre... He doesn't rely on the stereotypes, and the characters seem very natural in their roles.
.. Hell, even Nicholson pulls it off beautifully... I wouldn't call it a comedy exactly, and not a thriller, but something sort of in the middle... Think Goodfellas lite meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith and you'll get an idea of where the plot lies.
